As soon as the warm weather starts coming, I get in the mood for some new short sleeved shirts 😛 After wearing scarves all winter, sometimes plain t shirts feel so blah and boring. I got these 2 shirts from Sears with surprise points (anyone else a fan of those??) for a total of $1 & was determined to turn them into a cute shirt. With minimal sewing knowledge and an hour’s worth of time, you can make your new favorite summer shirt! 🙂

Whenever the weather gets a *touch* cooler, I instantly snap into crochet mode 🙂 I don’t know what it is, but something about fall gets me in the mood for crocheting! Especially when Christmas is coming up – I love crocheting gifts for the special people in my life! This past month, my sister and I visited our sister in Thessaloniki, Greece – we had so much fun planning projects together and getting DIY ideas from some little shops downtown! It’s so thick and soft, and the hombre look is adorable! I came up with this Easy Crochet Mason Jar Cozy Pattern in an afternoon – it’s a fun and easy project for any crochet-lover out there! 🙂 Continue Reading

Sewing Tip #1

A Sewing Tip I Learned from my Grandmother

Sewing Tip

I’ve always enjoyed sewing. There’s just something about doing a sewing project from start to finish that gives you a good feeling of an accomplishment. It’s not always been that way, I’ll have to say. 🙂 A beginner “sew”-er can easily become frustrated with mistakes and just be overwhelmed with it all!! I remember my early days of sewing and doing things wrong, not understanding the pattern, and just being frustrated. There were many times I’d have to sit and seam rip something, then look at the pattern again and figure what in the world it was trying to say! Anybody with me, there?! It does take patience if you’re new to sewing or you don’t do it a whole lot. But the more you do it, the better you will be at it. I promise. 🙂
