✅ The best thing you can do to organize a small bedroom is to remove clutter.
Either remove it permanently or remove it temporarily.
Here’s what I mean:
When changing out your clothes with the seasons, if you went through an entire season and didn’t wear certain clothes or shoes, donate them! It’s a lot easier to organize when you remove unwanted items.
Go through your jewelry – if you don’t wear certain pieces because you don’t like them, donate them!
Look around your room to see what you never use, and remove those things.
Some items you’ll want to remove TEMPORARILY.
Things that I remove temporarily are seasonal items: blankets, thick winter comforter, sweaters and coats, boots, etc.
If you start your spring cleaning/organizing by removing those heavy winter items, your room will feel so much bigger!
I do this but still need to store these items IN my bedroom, so my hack for doing that is using large capacity storage bags.

All my winter clothes are in here, and I can definitely fit at least two blankets in with my clothes, which I’ll do in another month or so when we’re done using them.
Pack these full of sweaters or blankets (I even have one full of pillows for guests!) and place them up high or into any space you don’t use on a daily basis. I’ve got mine way up on the top shelf of my closet, so they’re not using any of the space I use daily.

✅ Organize your drawers.
When your drawers are clean and organized, you will probably find that you have a little extra space in them! (Remember to remove unwanted extras!)
If you have a few things around your room that you need to access frequently but you’d like them out of sight, make a space in your drawer for them!

✅ Use the space under your bed.
There are several feet of space under a bed – you can put those to good use! The best way to do this is to use under-the-bed storage organizers.

Depending on what your hobbies are you, you may have a lot of small items that need to be stored.

✅ Use a cute laundry hamper to collect larger items.
In my girls’ room, we use a laundry hamper to collect all the stuffed animals. It’s a great way to contain them when they’re not playing with them!

✅ Wall space behind a door or inside your closet can be put to good use.
Years ago, I came up with this space-saving hack for storing my husband’s ties. It only comes out from the wall a couple of inches, so it puts that unused space just inside our closet to good use!
You could use this idea for a variety of things – ties, scarves, even bags if you use IKEA’s S-hooks instead of plastic rings!
