Easy DIY Pallet Shelves Tutorial – a 10 minute project
Our bare walls needed a little bit of sprucing up, and this project literally took ten minutes on a Saturday morning. With just some pallet wood and rope, these added SO much to our wall!
Need something for the kids to do while you’re working? These free printable coloring cards are the best! (Send one to grandma or a teacher or a friend to totally brighten their day!!)
The thin twine-type rope that I used is from Joanns, but you can really use any rope or twine.
We chose to leave our wood natural, but if you want a different look you could always paint it or whitewash it!
We drilled a hole (big enough for the rope to fit through) in each end of the wood, directly in the center. Then threaded the rope through and tied a loop knot, left the amount we wanted it to hang, and did the same through the other hole.
These shelves are totally customizable to however far down you want your shelves to hang, and whatever size you want the shelves to be.
Then we put two nails in the wall and hung the shelves from them. SO simple.
I LOVED these free printables from The Harper House, and used one for my new shelves.
These shelves are so fun to decorate – switch up your decor for the season. For winter, use mini pine trees. Change out your printable to match the season. Add new flowers in rich dark oranges and reds for the fall.

On the Pallet shelves, how do you support them when you put items on it? I tried this project and the shelves would either fall back towards the wall or forward dropping anything on them.
