Quick & Easy Tissue Paper Flower Tutorial

Hi there!! Nothing says spring like bright flowers – and with all this dreary weather lately I need something to brighten my day! These super cute tissue paper flowers are perfect for decorating for any birthday party, bridal or baby shower, Mother’s Day party, Easter celebration, wedding – the possibilities are endless! And they are inexpensive and oh.so.easy to make – they only use tissue paper and pipe cleaners, and can be whipped up in an afternoon! So grab a pack of tissue paper, a few pipe cleaners, a pair of scissors, and let’s get started with my Quick and Easy Tissue Paper Flower Tutorial . . .

First, lay out 3-4 sheets of tissue paper, stacked on top of each other.

You can use all one color or multiple colors – let your creative juices flow!!

Next, fold your paper accordion-style, each fold about 1″.

Lay your pipe cleaners about 1/4 of the way in from each end…these will be the middles of your flower once we cut this in half. Don’t worry if it doesn’t end up exactly in the center, because you can easily move it down!

Wrap the pipe cleaners around securely.

Now, cut your strip of tissue paper in half.

Your pipe cleaners should now each be in the middle of the two new strips.

Round the edges of the strips.

Spread the accordions out and gently pull each piece of paper away from the one below it.

Tuck the ends of the pipe cleaners somewhere where they won’t be seen 🙂 OR twist on another pipe cleaner and leave them long if you want to use them as stems!

Keep pulling and fluffing and arranging until you achieve the desired shape and the center is covered.

Ta-dah – there you have it! A beautiful, bright, fluffy flower 🙂

I would even add a pom-pom or a decorative button to the center to add to the cuteness!

These easy tissue paper flowers can be hung on a string from the ceiling, attached to a banner, or used as a centerpiece! Seriously – the possibilities for decorating with these super-easy flowers are endless!
