S’MORES BARS
We love s’mores, so we make them year-round!! (Either a sheet pan full of these bars, or over the stove or in a skillet!)
S'mores Bars {to feed a crowd}
Ingredients
Crust
- 2/3 cup margarine, melted
- 3 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 6 Tbs sugar
Brownie Layer
- 2-9x13 brownie mixes, and ingredients called for on the box
Topping
- 6 cups mini marshmallows
- 8 whole graham crackers, broken into small pieces
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 4 Hershey's milk chocolate bars, broken into small pieces
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350°. Generously grease sheet pan or 2 9x13 pans.
- Mix crust ingredients and press into bottom of pan. Bake 10 minutes.
- Make brownie batter as directed on box and gently spread over graham cracker crust. Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Set oven to broil.
- Immediately sprinkle marshmallows and graham pieces over the brownies. Broil about 5 inches from heat for 1-2 minutes until marshmallows are golden.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
- Let cool 20 minutes, then top with Hershey pieces, sticking them into the warm marshmallows.
- Cool completely and cut into bars.
***When you are using the broiler on your oven, be sure to leave the oven door cracked and keep a continual eye on them! All broilers are different, as soon as you see the marshmallows browning and swelling, they are very close to done. My broiler does not distribute the heat perfectly, so I end up rotating the pan a couple times to evenly brown the top. Just like when roasting marshmallows over a fire, they got too hot, they will catch on fire! So please be careful. We love the roasted marshmallow campfire taste the broiler gives and I have never had a problem with them burning or catching on fire.

Your recipe looks awesome. Are you using a half sheet pan or full sheet?
Thanks!
It’s not a full, it’s actually a HALF SHEET PAN.
We use this one: https://amzn.to/2D25s08
Looks great but very confusing … all your pictures have 1 sheet pan, but in recipe you say to grease 2 9×13, but next you say to press crust into pan – singular. What size pan do we use to match the recipe you have published here?
Hi Sue! You’ll see in our Recipe that step 1 says “Generously grease sheet pan OR 2 9×13 pans.” We prefer the sheet pan, but if you don’t have one, 2 9×13’s will work! 😉
Hope that helps!
I made and brought this yesterday at a children’s home I volunteer. It was a hit!!! Even the staff were complimenting how it tastes good. One mistake though…cookie sheet pan is not the same as half sheet pan 😁.
Can the s’more bars freeze
Hmm . . . we have never tried that! Can’t be positive but seems like they should be ok to freeze 🙂
can these freeze
I tried and tried to read reviews of this recipe. No luck. When you click on the reviews you don’t get them.
The reviews are just 5-star, 4-star, etc! People just clicked on how many stars they rated this recipe, didn’t write an actual review. If you have any specific questions about the recipe, please feel free to ask us! Really it’s a pretty easy no-fail recipe! 🙂
Do you still use 2 brownie boxes for 1 sheet pan?
Things were going well until I put my brownies back in to broil. Don’t broil for more than about 10-20 seconds! Mine were basically on fire when I took them out of the oven after about 30 seconds. Other than that, the recipe is easy and I’ll probably make them again… hopefully with less smoke next time. My husband said they tasted really authentic though. 😕
I don’t understand. If I’m using a half sheet pan as you mentioned you used, Am I still buying 2 brownie boxes?
A half sheet pan is the size of 2- 9×13 pans! So yes, 2- 9×13 brownie mixes are needed.
Please check out our link for our favorite pan we use for these. Link is in the post!
Can I make these a day ahead?
Most definitely! They stay fresh for a few days.
