This stretchy headband is another super simple one to make, like the Floral Knit Headband, there is no sewing required for this one either!
Polka Dot & Floral Baby Stretchy Headband
All you’ll need is –
- cute elastic to fit around baby’s head – Hobby Lobby is THE BEST for these. If you go in to buy 1 you will probably come out with like 5. Sooo many adorable choices. Very affordable too, especially if you take advantage of their 50% off trims by the spool sales.
- some scrap felt for the flower accent
- scrap yarn for the flower pom pom center
- hot glue gun
So start off by making your flower. Basically just make 5 petal shapes – mine aren’t all exactly the same, that adds variety and makes your flower look more natural. Just make sure they’re all around the same size and shape to avoid looking messy.
Now you’ll pinch those petals together at the base with a dab of hot glue – this step will also make them appear more natural like they’re budding from the base rather than sitting there flat.
Lay and glue then all on top of each other til you have your flower shape.
Then for the pom pom center, you’ll wrap the yarn around two of your fingers several times.
Now, slide it off your fingers and wrap tightly around the middle – just like the picture below.
Tie that loop around the middle tightly, and then snip each side as pictured.
Fluff the frayed edges around into a ball.
Next glue your elastic ends together to make a headband, glue the flower on that, then the flower center on top of the flower!
And, there you have your Polka Dot & Floral Baby Stretchy Headband. Super easy, but super cute!
