How to Organize a Small Bedroom with Lifewit organizers
This post is sponsored by Lifewit, but all opinions are 100% my own.
Bedroom organization ideas can be fun to look at, but which ones are practical items that will help you get a small bedroom organized quickly and efficiently?
My favorite organizers and storage bags from Lifewit (several tips and hacks below!!) are what I use to keep our bedroom organized.
How do you organize a room with little space?
The key to organizing a small room is to utilize every space possible (think up high, under furniture, on unused wall space).
Before you do this, you’ll want to remove everything that you don’t need or want so that you have more space to work with.
More tips below! ⬇️

Bedroom organization ideas: tips for keeping a small bedroom organized!
Bedroom Organization Ideas
Bedroom Organization Idea #1:
✅ The best thing you can do to organize a small bedroom is to remove clutter.
Either remove it permanently or remove it temporarily.
Here’s what I mean:
When changing out your clothes with the seasons, if you went through an entire season and didn’t wear certain clothes or shoes, donate them! It’s a lot easier to organize when you remove unwanted items.
Go through your jewelry – if you don’t wear certain pieces because you don’t like them, donate them!
Look around your room to see what you never use, and remove those things.
Some items you’ll want to remove TEMPORARILY.
Things that I remove temporarily are seasonal items: blankets, thick winter comforter, sweaters and coats, boots, etc.
If you start your spring cleaning/organizing by removing those heavy winter items, your room will feel so much bigger!
I do this but still need to store these items IN my bedroom, so my hack for doing that is using large capacity storage bags.
I have these storage bags from Lifewit – they are durable and well-made. What I love about these is HOW MUCH you can fit into them! When you think they’re full, you can still put more in there! 😆
I’ve been using these large capacity storage bags for years for blankets, sheets, and pillows, and I got two more recently to store our winter clothes in. These are essentials for me for organizing!
All my winter clothes are in here, and I can definitely fit at least two blankets in with my clothes, which I’ll do in another month or so when we’re done using them.
Pack these full of sweaters or blankets (I even have one full of pillows for guests!) and place them up high or into any space you don’t use on a daily basis. I’ve got mine way up on the top shelf of my closet, so they’re not using any of the space I use daily.
Bedroom Organization Idea #2:
✅ Organize your drawers.
When your drawers are clean and organized, you will probably find that you have a little extra space in them! (Remember to remove unwanted extras!)
If you have a few things around your room that you need to access frequently but you’d like them out of sight, make a space in your drawer for them!
I use this sock & underwear organizer from Lifewit, and surprisingly I am able to fit my journals and perfume rollers in there with everything else since it’s organized! This clears up space on my nightstand and makes it look clean and neat.
Bedroom Organization Idea #3:
✅ Use the space under your bed.
There are several feet of space under a bed – you can put those to good use! The best way to do this is to use under-the-bed storage organizers.
Just like the large storage bags, these storage organizers can hold SO much.
These under-the-bed storage organizers from Lifewit have strong pull-out handles, so it’s easy to slide them out from under the bed when you need to grab something.
You can use these for all kindsss of things: I have one full of wrapping paper, gift bags, and tissue paper. On another side of the bed we have one full of shoes. (I could fit another one under there as well if I need to.)
These organizers help you manage and use that space under your bed to the fullest extent!
Bedroom Organization Idea #4:
✅ Use fabric storage baskets to collect “clutter-y” items.
Depending on what your hobbies are you, you may have a lot of small items that need to be stored.
I love these fabric storage baskets from Lifewit because they are sturdy BUT easy to flatten/fold to store when you don’t need them.
These storage baskets come in three size options, so you can choose what fits your space the best.
I use my baskets for craft supplies and small electronics (cords and plugs create the worst clutter for me! 😂).
Bedroom Organization Idea #5:
✅ Use over-the-door space.
If your closet has a typical open-close door (not sliding), you can utilize that space on either side of the door by adding a hanging organizer.
You can also use the back of your bedroom door if you’re ok with those items being in sight!
These hanging organizers from Lifewit are perfect for containing and organizing all kinds of things!
Bedroom Organization Idea #6:
✅ Use a cute laundry hamper to collect larger items.
In my girls’ room, we use a laundry hamper to collect all the stuffed animals. It’s a great way to contain them when they’re not playing with them!
This hamper looks cute in an unused corner of a bedroom, so win-win!
You can collect larger items like backpacks/purses, blankets or sheets, fabric or other bulky craft items, etc.
Bedroom Organization Idea #7:
✅ Wall space behind a door or inside your closet can be put to good use.
Years ago, I came up with this space-saving hack for storing my husband’s ties. It only comes out from the wall a couple of inches, so it puts that unused space just inside our closet to good use!
You could use this idea for a variety of things – ties, scarves, even bags if you use IKEA’s S-hooks instead of plastic rings!
How can I organize a small bedroom?

What makes Lifewit products stand out?
I can tell you from personal experience that Lifewit baskets and organizers are more sturdy and rigid than other brands. I have tried a few brands, and my favorite are Lifewit, because they hold their shape well instead of looking “floppy” if they’re not completely full.
Their blanket storage bags are SO MUCH THICKER than another brand I bought (and returned) because they have 3 layers of material. I’ve been using Lifewit’s large capacity storage bags for a couple of years now and they’re still as sturdy as when I first got them!
The zippers are also sturdy stainless steel. I have never had an issue with any of their zippers, even with packing things tightly in and zipping.
Handles and seams are also very well-built – I actually looked them over to check out the stitching since I sew often – they are strong and durable.
Another great thing about Lifewit’s products is that they are affordable! There are lower-quality options on Amazon, but you can get the amazing quality of Lifewit for actually LESS than a lot of the other brands. So don’t let the price fool you! 😉
