This Swedish Meatballs meal was such a yummy dish! My whole family absolutely loved it.

Our life has been kinda turned into a whirlwind of activity lately. We added a new little one to our home and with all the hours and hours of feeding and comforting, time in other areas gets neglected. We are loving soaking up all the newborn snuggles we can get in!! Plus add in homeschool mama to our 3 other kiddos and assistant pastor’s wife…. I don’t always have the time in the kitchen that I once had and hope to someday have again!

One of my secrets :  FROZEN MEATBALLS 😉

I love having frozen meatballs on hand to make a quick meal any night of the week. I have made a lot of meatball subs, pasta sauce and meatballs, bar-b-q meatballs…. It’s an easy way to cut out lots of time of prep and cooking, but still be able to put a meal on the table for your family to sit together and enjoy. And sometimes, that’s just what needs done.

I love having plans for quick and easy and healthy homemade meals. Life is busy for us mommas of lots of small children! The feeling of having things under control at home, especially for mealtimes, is so helpful for our overall attitude and keeps us from feeling totally overwhelmed. That cheery attitude will spread to our children and husband too and make a happy home. Check out some of our other tips for busy homes!!

Have you ever had Swedish Meatballs? The flavor is delicious. This dish is a comfort meal for me. So warm, filling, and rich.

The sauce is made from broth, worcestershire and cream, thickened with butter and flour. Then it is layered in a pan with the cooked pasta and meatballs and baked for a bit. The flavors all blend together so richly. Yum!

If you ever had Swedish meatballs from IKEA, you know how good this is going to be. They even sell a mix for their cream sauce. Perfect, right?! Except I don’t have an IKEA near me unfortunately!!! I love that I can make this sauce at home. 🙂 Change it up and pour the sauce over mashed potatoes instead of pasta sometime.

can this be made in a slow cooker?

  3. The recipe says “1/2 oz frozen meatballs.” Do you mean 12 ounces?

  4. Can this be made ahead of time? Like maybe make it in the morning and then just bake it when it’s time to eat?
Also, if you have less meatballs(i only have 24 in my freezer), everything else would be the same correct? I don’t need to half anything in the sauce or pasta? I

Is there anything I can substitute for half and half to make it dairy free? Like Dairy free sour cream?
