Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

These easy Peanut Butter Rice Krispie treats are sweet and salty! Each peanut butter treat is loaded with creamy peanut butter and marshmallows and rice crispy cereal. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t met many kids that don’t love marshmallows!! They’re just so fun and sweet. 

This recipe is so easy, you only need 4 ingredients and a microwave. Give yourself ten minutes and you’ll have snack for everyone to munch on!

If you’ve made marshmallow cereal treats before, you know how simple this dessert is. Because we love peanut butter so much in my house, I had to try adding some peanut butter and the result is PERFECT!

I just melt some butter and peanut butter together and stir til it is smooth, before melting my marshmallows. Then, just make the treats like normal. So simple!

Prepare your pan by greasing it with a stick of butter or margarine. Also butter your spatula, and have it ready, so you can press the gooey mixture into the pan without having to deal with a mess!

It’s so easy to make this in the microwave! Start with a large glass bowl, and melt your butter and peanut butter together.

Stir it until smooth, then add your marshmallows.

Toss your marshmallows in the sauce and put back in the microwave for just a minute. Then mix all the cereal in, working quickly!

Allow to cool, and then cut into squares. YUM.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

Yummy twist on the classic cereal treat, just add peanut butter!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 10 oz. mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups crispy rice cereal

Instructions

  1. Butter an 8x8 square pan.
  2. In a large microwaveable bowl, melt the butter and peanut butter together, for 1-2 min and stir until smooth.
  3. Stir in the marshmallows. Microwave for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring well every 30 seconds.
  4. Once marshamllows are fully melted and mixed in, add the cereal and stir together quickly.
  5. Using a buttered spatula, press mixture into prepared pan. Allow to cool, then cut into squares. Store in an airtight container.
